The Scholarship Program at the Scripps Performing Arts Academy is a needs-based program, in which dance talent and commitment contribute to the determination of the level of awards for students placed in Ballet IIA or higher. Scholarships are awarded for the year to students under age 18.

Priority for scholarship funding is given for “core classes”, those that meet the requirements of the level of the student. Most scholarship funding is partial, though in certain circumstances, full scholarships are available. To apply for a scholarship, parents must fill out an application, and may need to complete an interview with one or more members of the Scripps Performing Arts Scholarship Board.

All students who receive a scholarship award, full or partial, may be subject to a Scholarship Fee for the school year. The Scholarship Fee helps subsidize administrative expenses necessary to support the Academy’s extensive scholarship programs. Scholarship students are not eligible for other School discounts in combination with his/her scholarship(s). Most Scholarships are partial and cover tuition only. Additional fees for performances or supplemental training programs are not included in the tuition scholarship award.

Scholarship recipients must attend all required dance classes and will report all upcoming absences promptly to the Artistic Director. Scholarship recipients and their families are not to discuss scholarship information with other students and parents.

Students and families who receive a scholarship for the school year must sign the Academy’s Scholarship Award Agreement. Failure to comply with the scholarship terms will result in a written or verbal warning. Any such warning may be followed by revocation of the scholarship award.
